$4Mn FUNDING SECURED TO TRANSFORM GREENHOUSE TOMATO PRODUCTION

Back to News

We’re excited to be part of a consortium that has secured nearly $4Mn in government funding to accelerate the development of miniature and compact tomato varieties purpose built for automated greenhouse production.

Funding for the AutoTom project comes through the Farming Innovation Programme, supported by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Innovate UK.

Over the next three years, Phytoform will lead the precision breeding and genetic innovation, developing novel tomato varieties that enable higher density growing, improved yield consistency, and seamless integration with automation. Working with CambridgeHOK, the University of Lincoln, the British Tomato Growers' Association, and APS Produce Group, we’re helping unlock a more productive and sustainable future for UK greenhouse tomatoes.

We can’t wait to get started!
